Review of Le Village des Meuniers in South Burgundy

RV and BMW on pitch at Le Village de Meunier

Le Village des Meuniers is a medium sized campsite in south Burgundy about an hour from Lyon. The campsite is located on a hill in a small town giving a lovely panoramic view of lush green countryside.

Access to the site is good even though you have to drive thorough a small village. The campsite boasts a wide main access road through the site giving easy access to pitches. There are many large pitches suitable for RV’s, large motorhomes and fifth wheels, although some are not flat.

There are two bathroom blocks at the campsite with spacious shower stalls, unlimited hot water, hairdryers and modern WC with toilet paper. Laundry facilities for a small charge, iron, washing up sinks and even a free dishwasher.

The site boasts three pools, one heated indoor pool with slide and two outdoor pools, one of which is a mini kids pool. Trampoline, mini golf, play park, indoor games machines and small farm will keep the kids busy. There is a small pond for fishing but it was very much full of weed and not really suitable to fish when we were there.

Good friendly staff, small shop with daily bread available to order. While there is a small restaurant and bar on site which we did not use so cannot comment on quality; there is also a lovely restaurant in the village called L’Escale Dompierroise that we would recommend.

The motorhome point is easy to access with waste water dump, and fresh water. The service point has a fixed grate and no dedicated black waste point, but the site manager was happy for us to use the grey water dump.

WiFi and phone signal on site was very good.
