Review of Lady Heyes Holiday Park

by George

Lady Heyes Holiday Park is situated in the very heart of the beautiful countryside in Cheshire. It is located on the B5152 a short drive from Delamere Forest. This privately owned and family run park is a Camping and Caravanning Club Listed Site.

There are 80 touring pitches which are hardstanding. Unfortunately, most of these are sloping and although they are long enough to cater for our 10.8m RV they are not very wide leaving little space of cars or trailers. A few of the pitches also offer access to private, fenced off hot tubs. There are also 28 camping pitches which are grass, with a gravel space for your car as well as glamping pods and stagecoaches. Both touring and camping pitches are available with 16amp Electric Hook Up and access to fresh water.

The toilet and shower facilities are clean and have underfloor heating and free showers, although the lights only stay on for a short while and it would be nice if the shower curtains were bigger and fitted across the entire shower. Lady Heyes site has a host of onsite facilities such as the Cheshire View Clubhouse & Bar, Indoor Children’s Play Barn (additional cost), Outdoor Children’s Play Area and sewing shop, Tea room and a Crafts & Antiques Centre.

There is a laundry room with washing up sinks, washing machines (£3.50), dryers (£1) and a hand washbasin. Please however be aware if you have allergies that the washing machines automatically add washing powder and conditioner. When we attended only one dryer was working.

There is a small dog walk on site along with a small area where you can let them off the lead. You can walk dogs around the site as long as they are on a lead. There are various dog bins around the site. There is also an outside tap where you can wash dogs with warm water.

Access to the site is good for large vehicles, with easy wide roads. Access into the site is easy though the road is very bumpy with potholes. The main access road around the site is wide enough, the smaller roads to some of the pitches are a little tight. Access to the pitches is via a card and barrier system at any time but you are asked to be quiet between 10:30 pm and 9 am.

A £5 cash deposit is required for the barrier card. Departure is by midday.

There is a motorhome point on the site although a little disappointing from an RV perspective because they don’t have a ground-level black waste point, only a raised elsan which they are happy for you to empty into.

It is a nice quiet site, with clean facilities and only about 30min drive to Chester and 40mins to Manchester.
